Rose released a heavy sigh. That was... that had just been too much. Too heavy. Why in Rowling's name did the boggart have to pick those particular things?! To be honest, at the moment, she was looking for a distraction, because the longer her thoughts focused on these things, at least in her own head, the further she'd fall into her Lupinisms, and that wasn't good for anyone.
Luckily, she had a pair of distractions sitting behind her. The rest of the class seemed to have broken into hushed conversation anyways. Probably mostly at their stake. But, whatever. She looked to Tonks, who seemed to still be lost in thought, but decided to let her be. She wasn't sure what to say to her anyway. It was hard, because... her greatest fear? She couldn't believe it. She wasn't going to give up though. Surely... if Severus could see past it, then she was sure as hell Tonks could too.
Again, her train of thought was going awry, she turned in her chair, leaning across the desk arms outstretched.
"So, that was intense, eh?"
She'd turned just in time to watch the ball bounce off Sirius's head. She snickered.

People were talking amongst themselves and Sirius wasn't concerned, and if they said anything about him so be it. And he sure as hell didn't want any pity. It happened and that was the that. He had been constantly getting hit in the side of the head by a ball, and every now and then he would get hit it the face. However after the ball hit his face for the umpteenth time Sirius gave a sigh, and turned his head to look at Marlene who at some point had taken the seat right next to him. "Would you be a dear and stop that Marlene?" He hoped she would but at the moment he didn't count on it.
Rose had at this point turned around and had the gal to snicker at his current situation. He wasn't too worried though, because the ball was soft. At least it wasn't some bludger. "Kind of an understatement. There Rose."
"It just means that we are all fu..." Sirius didn't get to finish his statement as a small hand from Marlene clamped over his mouth, and he got a glare from her. It was about his language, and he knew that. He gently moved her hand away. "Fine. We're all messed up. Some more than others. I still say my original statement is better." He mumbled the last sentence.

Marlene couldn't stop herself from giggling every time she hit Sirius in the face with the ball. She had made it a soft one, to make sure that she didn't injure him. But she stopped her fun as he was about to drop the f-word, and had placed her hand over his mouth, and glared at him. Warning him not to say it. She smiled when her hand was removed gently and then she looked over to Rose with a smile. "Yes it was intense to a degree, and that is an understatement like the mutt said."
Sure those things were disturbing but nothing had scared her more than seeing her mum and siblings dead. Even thinking about it, brought tears to her eyes which she forced herself not to let them fall and wiped her eyes. Even seeing an abused Sirius, other dead people and Voldemort, compared nothing to that, because she wasn't afraid of those things, and plus, she would never ever let something happen to her friends. Severus had Rose and Marlene was sure that she didn't need to be to chummy with someone that was in league with the likes of Voldemort. Who knows what could happen, and she was concerned for her friend.

Rose snickered as she watched Marlene place a hand over Sirius' mouth, stopping him from dropping the f-word. Sirius just had no filter; Rose wasn't innocent, as when she gets really angry, the word had dropped from her a few times as well, but thing was---she never really got that angry. For Sirius, it was just part of his vocabulary.
"Yeah, it is an understatement, but I don't know how to state it with... without being vulgar."
Her eyes slid to Sirius and snickered again, before frowning. "To be honest... I, wish it had been anything but that, for me. Cause, Remus didn't know that I knew."
She sighed, blowing her bangs with a huff.

Sirius rolled his eyes. "See, It would have been perfectly fine to say it, because it is true." He stuck his tongue out at Marlene. "If you don't want to talk about it that's fine, and I'm not gonna pressure Remus into saying anything either, but coming from someone who hasn't had the best home life. I'm here if you want to discuss it." He was actually being serious, and no this is not some pun on his own name. It was evident that he didn't know much about his friend's home life, and that actually stung a little bit. But then yet again he never asked and his friends had never brought it up.
"But now he knows that you know, but that wasn't his biggest fear. So I'm sure he will be a little torn up about it. But other than that I think you're safe." He stated, knowing somewhat how his friend would react to something like this. But he wasn't quite so sure at the moment. "I know this might sound a little weird coming from me but I think that you'll need to talk to him soon about it, and tell him everything. And by that I mean everything you know. So you can deal with whatever it is together." Wow did he get hit by some spell that made him insightful or wise for a moment? Maybe this was one of the things his grandfather had told him was one of his strengths, and that he would need to find it on his own. When it was the right time.

Marlene stared at Sirius with a look of wonder and a little bit of astonishment as he spoke. It wasn't every day that he was like this and she had only seen glimpses of this type of maturity from him a few times. Maybe just maybe she was making the right choice. Only if she could talk to him alone about it what she felt, and about other things. Snapping out of her stupor Marlene looked around and noticed that others had moved away from their little group, and that there was no sign of the professor returning anytime soon. "To sum up what Sirius just said, talk with your brother, and he will understand and will more than likely forgive you." She said. "It will be alright as long as he doesn't blame himself for your knowledge of whatever it is you know. And I imagine it isn't pleasant at all."
After a moment of scilence between them Marlene couldn't help add her thoughts on the whole matter of what they had just seen. "My only question is, just how messed up are we all? I mean is it going to bring us closer together or is it going to divide us more than we already are?" Marlene really want to voice her thoughts on the fact of how Snape acted to an illusion of Voldemort. She wasn't sure she wanted to be around him for any extended period of time, because by the look of it he was not one to be trusted.

Rose stared at the both of them for a few long moments. Sirius had been rather... mature and insightful and it made her grin. Sirius seemed to have a few things up his sleeves as it was. Normally it was all pranks and rambunctiousness... but she appreciated the mature view on the matter from him. He was right now, she would need to talk to him.
God, she didn't feel like she was in trouble, no, it was more than that. Almost like... betrayal? She swallowed, looking briefly to Severus. If this was how sharp the knife was, she feared when Remus found out about how Severus actually came to learn about their furry little secret. Now that was a sharp knife of betrayal.
"Of course, you're right," she said, looking at Sirius. She and Remus had weathered through everything together, this was no exception. She smiled softly at Sirius, glad that her brother had friends like these in his life. The thought of Remus blaming himself for this, she closed her eyes and drug her hand down her face. They were already messed up as it was, they didn't need it added to.
She looked to Marlene, pondering, "I-" She chewed her bottom lip. "I would hope it wouldn't have any detrimental effects. I would rather see ...an understanding arise and for us to come together, rather than separate us. I mean, I wouldn't judge anyone based on such a thing as their greatest fear..."

Sirius couldn't help but grin as Rose said he was right, which rarely happened so he was gonna take it while he could. "There will be some that will keep their distance, others will try to use it against the others, and then there will be those that will band together." That was the likely outcome of this situation, and things should have been better prepared by the professor so they all had some idea of what would happen.
He knew someone in this class would try and get a reaction out of him from what they saw when it was his turn, but he didn't care. It was in the past and would stay forever he hoped. Sirius wasn't going to give them the satisfaction. But if it got bad there would be hell to pay, he'd prank the whole damn school if he had to, just to get revenge. He was sure that James would help him out, and maybe the others as well. But people better leave the girls alone, or they might need a trip to not only the hospital wing but St. Mungo's as well. He didn't know it but there was a dangerous glint in his eyes, while he had been thinking about what he would do, to those that messed with his friends and himself. Well maybe not the rat, because he didn't care about the the fourth marauder at all.

"Hmm. I don't think that there will be too much trouble." Marlene said, hoping that she was right, and others wouldn't be vindictive or anything else. But she wasn't naive and knew that things weren't gonna be all hunky dory. And of course Sirius was right once again, about how people would react to things.
"Rose." She addressed her friend in a quiet tone while leaning closer as well so as to not be overheard by their classmates, and she felt like she was hesitating but being the Gryffindor that she is, Marlene let out a sigh and pressed forward. "With how Snape reacted to the boggart-Voldemort. Are you sure that he can be trusted?" She wasn't against Severus or anything but since seeing that she was skeptical and and little worried for Rose. But if Rose was sure that he could be trusted then Marlene would give him the benefit of a doubt. She wasn't about to write him off completely. Even though they were merely acquaintances.

Rose about to reply to Sirius, when Marlene addressed her. Oh, she had known this was coming. At least Marele seemed to not have any fear about saying Voldemorts name. Rose instantly sat up and pulled away, her body language changing entirely, defensive. It wasn't the same line of questioning she had heard from Remus, but it was close.
"I trust him with my life," she replied vehemently. Literally she added on, mentally.

Marlene raised her hands up slightly in a sign of peace. when Rose got all defensive from her line of questioning. "I meant no harm Rose. Its just that my kind aren't treated well, by people that follow dark lords, and other unsavory types of people." Marlene was terrified of what would happen if she got kidnapped or anything of that nature. There were people in the government that didn't approve of people with creature blood in them, so it wasn't always easy.
She looked over as Sirius tried to get up and leave them on their own when she grabbed his arm and pulled him down. "You aren't going anywhere. So sit your arse down." It was funny to her how she could handle Sirius like that and he usually did what she told him. Marlene would have let him go, but he was her ally at the moment. She giggled as Sirius plopped down in his chair with a pout on his face. Would he ever grow up? Sirius would tell you no, but recently that was changing and he was becoming more mature as time went on. At least it was faster than James.

She relaxed, only marginally. "I get that, I really do."
Too much really. While she realized her situation would be a bit different if Voldemort ever got ahold of her. Probably use her to attack people. Or... worse. Cause how many werewolves are female? She shudders at the thought. She worried on her own about Severus, him walking that dark path. She would do anything to keep him from going to him.
She had two years to prevent it, barring anything drastic.
"Sorry, I just... I just think I'm something good for him."

Tensions were rising between Rose and Marlene, and Sirius didn't want to get stuck in the middle of that. So he stood up and was about to move away when he felt a hand grab his arm, it was Marlene, of course it was her. When she told him to sit his arse down, he did so without complaint, but with a huge grin on his face. "It seems my dear, that I am starting to rub off on you." Sirius let out a bark like laugh at that, as Marlene clearly hadn't noticed what she had said, or she was just ignoring the fact that she had used a "bad" word. According to who you are around, that is.
"I think you are as well Rose. You might be able to get through to him where others can't." While he didn't necessarily approve of the relationship he would support it, unless Snape did something stupid. But he wasn't going to get in the way of their happiness. He let out a sigh and decided to tell them that he had actually had a somewhat civil conversation with Snape. "I have an interesting tidbit of information to share. The other day I actually had a somewhat civil conversation with Snape up on the astronomy tower." He revealed and wondered what the girls reactions would be to that. He may have left out the part about the wands being at the ready, but hey it's the small things that count.

Marlene nodded at Rose, and chose to ignore what Sirius had said about him rubbing off on her. sure she had said arse, but it worked on him didn't it? She was a little dumbfounded and had a look of bewilderment on her face, at the little tidbit of information that Sirius shared. It was a wonder that neither of the two had ended up in the hospital wing. "I don't even know what to say to that Sirius." Marlene said, since she really had no idea what to say to that, but settled with a small smile on her lips due to the thought that if Sirius and Severus could have a somewhat civil conversation then maybe there was hope after all.
"It's alright Rose. I probably should have worded my question differently. But you know me, brash Gryffindor and what not." Marlene wasn't afraid to say what was bothering her, but with new information, provided by the mutt maybe Rose had some good sense and instincts. "I... think that you will be just what he needs. But I haven't actually had any long conversations with him, so I hold onto my judgement until such a time." Who knows she might somehow even become more than acquaintances.

"I think, the only thing she's preventing you from saying, is that 'f' word in polite company, dear Sirius," Rose sneered, chuckling. "Since you do tend to use it a lot. I would know, my ears bleed from it."
She paled slightly, "O--oh? A--and what did the two of you chat about?"
Civil conversation? Him? Snape? What? Equally as surprising was the fact that he, in a way, was supporting her. Gods, who was this and where was Padfoot???
"Pads..." she moaned softly, reaching out to touch his forehead. "A--are you sick?"
Her gaze turned to Marlene. Indeed! Should have worded that question differently! Dunderheads, all of them. She resisted the urge to give a very Snape-like sneer at the girl.
Sirius actually having a civil conversation. Her influence. Yes, that's exactly what he needs. He needs to see not everyone are complete idiots. Though, Sirius being civil was certainly new. She wasn't expecting his change of personality out of all of them. But if one half of the usual terrorizing duo has been... removed... well... that's sure to have interesting outcomes.
